House of Commons Lunch with Rt Hon Esther McVey MP

Guest Speaker at Oldham Sixth Form College Case Study Session

AA Projects has been invited to present at Oldham Sixth Form College on 17 February 2015. The case study session has been organised by Ecophon and in attendance will be local architects, acoustic technicians and representatives from Oldham Council. The session will explore aspects of the recently completed extension that included remodelling of the main entrance, the Duncan Lawton Building and the Arts and Media Departments. AA Projects successfully secured two rounds of BCIF funding to procure these works and provided design, contract administration and quantity surveying services.

Whitworth Art Gallery to Reopen After a £15m Transformation

Whitworth Art Gallery will open its doors to visitors once again this weekend following substantial building and restoration work, which has extended the attraction’s footprint by a third and doubled the overall gallery space. It has taken a £15 million budget and 16 months to complete the transformation. The most significant changes are at the rear of the building, where the extension stretches out into Whitworth Park on either end of a glass promenade creating England’s first 'gallery in the park'. AA Projects has been acting as Health and Safety Advisor throughout the redevelopment of these stunning new facilities.

Wolseley UK Head Office Achieves BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Rating

Wolseley UK has achieved an ‘excellent’ Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating for the building management of its Leamington Spa head office, which features a biodiverse meadow to aid plant growth and nurture wildlife. The energy and sustainability team at AA Projects completed the assessment as part of a programme of assessments for Wolseley UK. BREEAM In-Use is a scheme to help building managers, investors, owners and occupiers reduce the running costs and improve the environmental performance of their buildings.

Successful Revolving Green Fund Application

The energy and sustainability team at AA Projects has been successful in supporting the University of Liverpool with its Revolving Green Fund 4 (RGF4) application. The success of the application will enable the University to replace all its external central campus lighting with LED fittings and will provide a significant contribution to the University achieving its carbon reduction targets.
