Bangor University to Honour Sir Dave Brailsford

Upon completion of the £2.5 million upgrade project, Bangor University’s sports centre will be renamed Canolfan Brailsford in honour of locally born cycling coach Sir Dave Brailsford. Previously known as Maes Glas, the centre has recently seen the addition of a new Sports Dome and two indoor tennis and netball courts which were opened late last year by double Olympic gold medal winning athlete Lord Sebastian Coe. AA Projects is providing project management and employer’s agent services on the refurbishment project that will transform the sports facilities.

Two RIBA North West Regional Award Winners

Congratulations to two of our clients on winning RIBA North West Regional Awards for two recently completed projects. Liverpool City Council was awarded both a Regional Award and a Conservation Award for the renovation of the grade-2 listed Liverpool Central Library whilst Rochdale Metropolitan Council received a regional award for its new head office building, Number One Riverside. The awards recognise architectural excellence.

£10M Planned Refurbishment of Exchange Quay

A planning application has been submitted to Salford City Council for the remodelling and refurbishment of Exchange Quay, Salford Quay’s iconic 433,637 sq ft office complex. The £10 million investment represents a significant cash injection into the Greater Manchester office market. AA Projects, is acting as project managers on the scheme which will involve significant internal refurbishment of the office accommodation, external improvements to the buildings and extensive upgrading of the on-site environment and amenity offer.

Annual Repainting and Repairs Completed on Lovell Telescope

AA Projects has undertaken a number of commissions at Jodrell Bank Observatory. The latest saw the completion of the annual repainting and repair programme of the Lovell Telescope and supporting structure. Our team undertook the role of CDM-C on this challenging project which was completed using a Tensioned Access Platform System.

As our Energy and Sustainability team continues to expand and grow its product portfolio, it has recently secured a number of new contracts working as technical due diligence advisors. The work involves analysing Energy Performance Contract agreements that have been proposed for energy saving projects. The energy saving technologies include LED lighting and Combined Heat and Power schemes.
