Motorsport Workshop Facilities Completed at Staffordshire University

New motorsport workshop facilities and engineering machine shops have been created at Staffordshire University from former classroom space and ceramics workshops. AA Projects acted as contract administrator and lead consultant on the project which has provided the University with a high quality, flexible workshop space within the agreed budget.

Further Education Best Practice Programme

Our education specialists at AA Projects have project managed the Skills Funding Agency and Association of Colleges Best Practice Programme, resulting in the creation of a new website www.building-knowledge.info. This website offers a valuable resource tool for the Further Education (FE) sector and property professionals. Collaboration on this programme has been from the RIBA FE Forum, a group of property professionals and colleges originally established by the RIBA to promote excellence in the FE sector.

Completion of Initial Phase of Redevelopment at Alban Retail Park

The first of five phases of redevelopment has been completed at Alban Retail Park in Warrington which involves the refurbishment of both the redundant Fiat building and existing trading retail park. The next phase is already on site, and anticipates delivery of a further 42,000 square feet of retail units, with the other three stages in design development. AA Projects has been employed as project manager, employer’s agent, CDMC and quantity surveyor on this scheme which could attract 760 new jobs to the area.

New Commission at the Bank of England

The AA Projects building surveying team has been commissioned by the Bank of England to undertake a condition survey of its premises in Debden in Essex. Bank notes are produced here by De La Rue Plc and are a product of a highly developed form of mass production combining state-of-the-art technology and quality craftsmanship. This notable building was built by Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons Ltd and opened in October 1956. It is approximately 800 feet long, with the main printing hall 125 feet wide and vaulted by an irregular curve. The whole vault is made of concrete and glass and provides a grand, spacious area.

Successful Completion of Phase One at Exchange Quay

The first of five phases has been completed of the £10 million office refurbishment at Exchange Quay in Salford Quays. Practical Completion has been issued for Building Eight at Exchange Quay, the first building to be finished on site and a major milestone in the development. Buildings Six, One and the Public Realm are also on site, with Building Five to follow shortly after. AA Projects is project managing the development.

Successful Project Handover for Cheadle Hulme High School

The building surveying team is pleased to be handing over a successful project for Cheadle Hulme High School. The scheme followed on from previous roof works and involved a façade and window scheme, along with a new extract system. The school is delighted with the final project delivered and Robert Hardman, Estates Manager, said, “Our experience is that AA Projects has achieved all of our required objectives within our tight timescale and budget parameters, which is a tribute to the quality of the advice and the management skills AA Projects provide.”
