Stoke on Trent College – New Advance Manufacturing and Engineering Facility

Work has started on the new £12 million Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering building at Stoke on Trent College’s Burslem Campus. The building replaces a number of outdated amenities on the site and will provide state-of-the-art facilities for welding, machining, bricklaying, plastering and gas testing. AA Projects is undertaking employer’s agent, project management, quantity surveying, CDM-C and site waste management services on the scheme and this is the sixth project undertaken for the college in the last three years.

New Learning and Performance Arts Facilities at Priestley College

The AA Projects building surveying team is currently working on a new commission at Priestley College, following the success of the previous scheme on the new build Lewis Carroll Centre. The new appointment includes a single storey flat roof extension to the rear of the existing Crescent Building to provide an additional learning and study zone for students. The Priestley Building is also to receive a single storey flat roof extension to provide a new performance studio together with state-of the-art practice rooms.

New Commission Secured with SPIE

The building surveying team at AA Projects has recently completed detailed condition surveys of four High Schools in the Kirklees region. The commission was secured through SPIE. The condition surveys included a full review of the building fabric along with the mechanical and electrical installations. The surveys were completed with minimal disruption to each school and within a very tight programme.

Work Commences on Four-Storey Expansion at Harrow College

Work has commenced on the £6.5 million expansion to Harrow College in Middlesex. The project will see the demolition of temporary units in order to expand the college with the construction of a four-storey enterprise unit. The expansion will include new classrooms with room for a total of 580 students and approximately 140 staff. AA Projects is providing project management, quantity surveying, CDM coordinator and BREEAM consultancy services on the new facility will radically improve the teaching spaces at the college, making way for new open plan areas for learning.

Work Commences on New ‘Food Futures’ Building at Reaseheath College

AA Projects is pleased to announce that Project Wren Chaffinch has started on site at Reaseheath College. The project is a new build single storey facility on a green field site comprising a ‘Food Futures’ building; to study how food production will be undertaken in the years to come. The project also encompasses a foundation building for young people with special educational needs and a maintenance facility for the farm equipment and glasshouses linked into the ‘Food Futures’ building, to allow students to see how different techniques and species of plant impact on food yields.

New Visitor Facilities and Maintenance at Jodrell Bank Observatory

The CDM-C team at AA Projects is currently undertaking a number of projects at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire. These include the annual repainting of sections of both the Lovell and MK11 radio telescopes, completion of the Star Pavilion and an extension to the current café. The Star Pavilion is a new building designed to expand the visitor experience at the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre and to create a flexible multi-purpose space.
