Carlisle College of the Arts to be Officially Opened

The official opening of the new Carlisle College of the Arts is to take place on 27 November 2014, helping to celebrate the diamond anniversary of the college. The new Digital and Creative Arts Centre was designed and constructed by a team led by AA Projects and opened to students at the start of the autumn term. It comprises of a dance studio, theatre, recording studios, mac labs, an arts suite and multiple flexible teaching areas.

Restoration Work at Gunnersbury Baptist Church

The AA Projects team is undertaking the role of CDM-Coordinator on this project for the Gunnersbury Baptist Church in West London, a building which dates back to 1877. The project involves restoration and cleaning of the stone work. The church is enclosed with scaffolding at present, with the stone work cleaning completed and masonry repairs 75% finished. Bird deterrent works are also underway.

Academies Capital Improvement Funding Announced

The Education Funding Agency (EFA) has announced that a Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) has been made available for academies to access in the 2015 to 2016 financial year. The CIF replaces the Academies Capital Maintenance Fund (ACMF). AA Projects successfully secured over £80 million of capital funding for academies in previous funding rounds, helping academies nationwide. We are already very busy helping academies with their property strategies and condition surveys in preparation for funding applications.

New Property Strategy for Northern College

AA Projects has been working with Northern College to develop a property strategy. Northern College is located within a Grade I listed castle dating from 1670 and is set within a conservation area. The strategy commenced with consultation to establish the colleges’ strategic and educational vision. A number of options were considered and a preferred option was selected along with an implementation plan. The first stage of this plan is now complete after AA Projects successfully secured condition funding for the college from the Skills Funding Agency.
