A new sympathetic extension is being built to the Grade II listed All Saints Church in Daresbury to create a Lewis Carroll Visitors’ Centre. It was here that the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll was baptised and his father was Priest between 1827 - 1843. The centre will become a key focal point on the "Carroll trail" and provide an introduction to his key works. It is the first dedicated centre to Lewis Carroll. The scheme, which is of archaeological interest, is located in a green belt and conservation area and is being backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund. AA Projects has expertise in the conservation and refurbishment of historic buildings and of accurate cost planning in this specialist sector.

Project:Liverpool Central Library PFI Project

Project details:
AA Projects has been appointed to provide Independent Certifier services to the £50 million Liverpool Central Library PFI Project.
The Central Library is located within the designated Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City World Heritage Site and the city’s Cultural Quarter. The Central Library and Archive has developed on its current site over the last century and a half, and now comprises a complex of several interlinked buildings, the majority of which are listed Grade II*.
The key outputs of the project are:

The provision of a high quality building with a new entrance on William Brown Street

The provision of new space to deliver the New Service Concept for Library and Archive Services

The restoration and renovation of the historic buildings

A new repository for archives and rare books which meets the requirements of BS5454.

Project: Newcastle City Libraries

Project details:
The demolition and rebuilding of the City and High Heaton Libraries on their existing sites. The demolition of the Basil Spence City Library in a prominent city centre location is the critical first phase to enable the construction of "the most significant public library between Leeds and Edinburgh", over six floors, naturally lit through a large atrium. The building is designed with many environmentally friendly features and includes improvements to Princess Square to create a vibrant urban square.

Project details:
Project description: Provision of a 2,700m² Youth Zone, Lottery funded through Myplace. The building is constructed on a brownfield site and includes indoor and outdoor sports facilities, fitness and boxing gymnasia, café, youth support, music and recreational facilities. The project has progressed through Stage D.

Project: Creative Arts & Media Block
Value: £8.7 million
Project details:
The scheme comprised the construction of a new teaching block housing a learning resource centre, guidance centre, office accommodation and general teaching areas, construction of a creative arts and media block housing theatre, rehearsal rooms, hair and beauty rooms and specialist recording areas. In addition, the extensive refurbishment of all existing accommodation and provision of additional car parking and extensive landscaping across the campus.

Project details:
The scheme comprised the construction of a new 5700m2 state-of-the-art Performing Arts and Teaching Building including new flexible performance space with associated rehearsal rooms along with dance and state of the art media suites. The development was followed by a series of phase demolitions and landscaping works.
