Project details:
Provision of a new build school and the significant extension and remodelling of two existing schools for Peterborough Council's flagship PFI project. Significant S278/S106 highway and safe pedestrian route works have also been undertaken as part of the project. AA Projects provided both lead technical advisor and quantity surveying roles on behalf of the Council. In addition, AA Projects procured and managed the £800k offsite highway works resulting from the planning conditions for the PFI project.

Project: St Johns C of E Primary School, Blackpool

Project details:
Provision of a 1,600m² Primary School and 16 place Nursery on the site of the original premises in the centre of Blackpool. Prior to the demolition of the existing building the school was relocated to a refurbished former Grammar School where delivery of all curriculum activities continued. The restrictive nature of the site required a new unique design solution and the new three storey school incorporates play areas at various levels including the upper roof area.

Project details:
Provision of a 2,600m² new build 6th form block funded via an LSC presumption. Our commission included the provision of strategic cost advice to facilitate the funding application and full pre and post contract Quantity Surveying and CDM-C services. The project delivered seminar, sports science and lab spaces, construction workshops and wireless learning resource centre and social zone areas.

A seven school BSF programme, North Lincolnshire BSF is a complex design and build only programme. Our role involves managing technical compliance and the certification process. AA Projects our jointly appointed by May Gurney and North Lincolnshire Council. The projects involve very tight interfaces between the construction works and the existing school. AA Projects role involves managing handover and the decant process.

Development of a post 16 centre of vocational excellence to facilitate the school becoming an 11 to18 facility. Provision of strategic cost advice to enable the school to access funding via a presumption to post 16 provision. Scheme includes demolition/alteration of existing facilities and infrastructure to accommodate the new building. Overall site masterplan allows for science block and subsequent BSF developments.

A thirteen school programme, Rochdale’s BSF programme comprises of a range of new build and refurbishment projects to be completed over a five year period. Our role involves managing technical compliance and the certification process. AA Projects is jointly appointed by Inspired Spaces and Rochdale Borough Council. The schools are being procured through a mixture of PFI and Design and Build Construction. AA Projects role involves providing compliance services of all building structural, fabric and mechanical & electrical systems.

AA Projects is jointly appointed by Equitix and Derbyshire County Council. We have recently extended our service to include providing cost and ICT certification advice to the LEP. The schools are being procured through a mixture of PFI and Design and Build Construction.
