New Lewis Carroll centre for Daresbury
A new sympathetic extension is being built to the Grade II listed All Saints Church in Daresbury to create a Lewis Carroll Visitors’ Centre. It was here that the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll was baptised and his father was Priest between 1827 - 1843. The centre will become a key focal point on the "Carroll trail" and provide an introduction to his key works. It is the first dedicated centre to Lewis Carroll. The scheme is located in a green belt and conservation area and is being backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project, which is of archaeological interest, is due to be completed in May 2011 and AA Projects has been appointed to provide both Quantity Surveying and CDM Coordination services.
