New sixth form college for Rochdale

Rochdale Sixth Form College opened its doors to students in September 2010.  The new 8,500m² impressive college building spans five floors and provides outstanding new facilities in the region.

Consultants AA Projects provided Strategic and Project Management services on the new build.  In 2006, AA Projects was invited to assist the Rochdale Education Partnership with their LSC competition bid for the creation of a new incorporated sixth form college for the town.  The competition was secured and AA Projects was appointed to progress the project to RIBA Stage C and to make an Application in Principle bid to the LSC for 100% fee, capital and revenue funding.  AA Projects proceeded to manage the development of a curriculum model and space model and to evaluate possible locations, developing robust capital, operational and set-up costs for funding applications.  On receipt of the Application in Principle, AA Projects went on to deliver the project on time and within budget for the start of the 2010 Autumn Term.
