Topping out ceremony at Furness College for £41million build
A Topping Out Ceremony has taken place at Furness College to mark the completion of the steel frame structure. Barrow and Furness MP John Woodcock and Stephen Critchley, an apprentice at Handmark Engineering in Barrow, fixed a ceremonial “golden bolt” in place on the steelwork of Furness College’s new building. AA Projects is undertaking the roles of Project Manager, Employers Agent, Quantity Surveyor, FF&E Management and ICT Consultant Management on the £41 million new build. Installation of the copper cladding is now underway with the "new build" section of the project due to be complete in spring next year. The project will be completed in it's entirety in the summer of 2013.
