Converter Academies
The freedoms bestowed on a school when it becomes an academy also bring additional responsibilities for the Trustees and the Governing Body. Those outstanding schools that are seeking conversion to Academy status (converter academies) will take responsibility for their land and buildings and more importantly, the development of their estate in order to meet the demands of Learning and Teaching within an Academy environment.
The Government has made clear that Academies will be at the top of their Capital spending plans and it is important that Academies have up to date condition information and a strategy to support applications for funding from the Department.
