New Sports Dome to be Opened by Lord Coe

Lord Coe, the man who made the London 2012 Olympic Games a reality, is officially opening a new sports facility at Bangor University today. Part of an on-going refurbishment of the University’s sports facilities, which are used by students and the local community, the weatherproof sports dome provides facilities for indoor netball and tennis throughout the year. AA Projects was responsible for the overall design of the Dome and is providing quantity surveying, employer’s agent, design and building surveying services on all phases of the University’s sports redevelopment programme.

Major Redevelopment of Whitworth Art Gallery to Open in September 2014

A stunning new extension and major redevelopment of Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester will open to the public on Saturday 13 September 2014. This £15 million transformation will double public space and create state-of-the-art new facilities for visitors including expanded gallery spaces, a learning studio, study centre, collections access zone, an art garden and a beautiful café nestling amongst the trees in the park. AA Projects is acting as Health and Safety Advisor on the scheme.

Steve Silver from AA Projects Speaks to Politicians at Portcullis House Offices

Steve Silver, a volunteer from blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan and a Senior Health & Safety Consultant at AA Projects, spoke to politicians and their staff at their Portcullis House offices, about a lifesaving education programme that highlights the importance of bone marrow, blood and organ donation. Mr Silver began volunteering for the charity in 2010.

Nelson and Colne College, who AA Projects has supported with a range of energy and sustainability services, was presented with a highly commended award for their Technical Innovation for Sustainability. As category sponsors, AA Projects was delighted to present the award for Best Newcomer to Basingstoke College of Technology and a Highly Commended award to Harrow College.
