Facilities Management Appointment at Oasis Community Learning

The facilities Management team at AA Projects has been appointed by Oasis Community Learning to procure new nationwide maintenance contracts. These contracts are to cover the clients’ existing 40 academy estate and to incorporate building fabric, mechanical and electrical and grounds maintenance.

New Infant School for Marlborough Road Academy

Extensive works have been undertaken at Marlborough Road Academy in Salford to refurbish and extend the Infant School and provide a link corridor between the Infant and Junior School. This fast track project was completed at the end of April and involved decanting the school into temporary accommodation during the building works. In September 2012, the school became an academy in partnership with Salford City College and Salford University. The aim of this partnership is to create lifelong learning opportunities for all the community.

Work Commences on New £12.5m Hub for Stoke College

Stoke on Trent College is investing £36 million in new and refurbished buildings across both the Burslem and Cauldon Campuses. On Monday, work commenced on the new £12.5m hub building which will provide state-of-the-art flexible teaching space specifically for business and management, science, digital information and web-based technologies, together with new student services facilities. AA Projects is undertaking project management, employer’s agent, quantity surveying, site waste management, BREEAM and CDM co-ordinator services on the 3,500 square meter scheme, due to complete in May 2015.

Official Opening of Ysgol Y Bont, Anglesey

Yesterday saw the official opening of Ysgol Y Bont, a new £10 million special education needs school in Llangefni. AA Projects was appointed by Anglesey County Council under the North Wales Procurement Partnership Framework to provide quantity surveying services for the construction of the new special school which is equipped with first-rate modern learning facilities.

Roof Works Completed at Cheadle Hulme High School

Following a successful funding bid submitted by AA Project on behalf of the school, works have been undertaken to re-cover substantial areas of flat roof and install around one hundred new insulated dome roof lights at Cheadle Hulme High School. The completed new roof has tapered insulation and greatly improves the thermal properties of the building.

Retail and Mixed Use Development at Edge Lane, Liverpool

AA Projects has been commissioned on a number of retail and mixed use developments for Derwent Holdings across the North of England. Edge Lane in Liverpool is Derwent’s largest retail development to date and will be in excess of 800,000 sq ft. Planning approval has now been granted for a cinema and undercroft car parking, with a mixed use approach for building out this gateway site into Liverpool.
