Charity Football Tournament for Princes Trust

Twenty seven teams from across the North West took part in the Barclays Princes Trust Tournament to raise money for the charity. The five-a-side tournament was played in good spirit by all taking part. The AA Projects team admirably fought off some stiff competition in the first round and progressed to reach the last sixteen before elimination. The work of the Prince's Trust supports disadvantaged 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion.

Expansion of Central Manchester Commercial Team

Six months after opening the Kennedy Street office, AA Projects continues to strengthen its central Manchester team to support the growing client base. Recent commissions include retail and mixed use developments for Derwent Group Holdings in White City in Manchester and Edge Lane in Liverpool along with further developments in Warrington, Hull, Ellesmere Port and Sheffield. Additional work is being undertaken for Damson Restaurants, strengthening Steve Pilling’s hospitality offer in a variety of buildings across Manchester, following the recent success of ‘The Dockyard’ in MediaCity.

Harrow College Receives Planning Permission

The proposals from Harrow College for a new facility at its Harrow Weald campus in Brookshill have been granted planning permission by Harrow Borough Council’s planning committee. The new structure will mean the redevelopment and part-demolition of an existing building. It will be the college’s new facility for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and will include a courtyard, sensory room and additional classrooms. AA Projects is providing project management, quantity surveying, CDM coordinator and BREEAM consultancy services.

New Appointments at Lacey Green Primary Academy

AA Projects has been appointed to design, procure, tender and contract manage a £1.2m new building extension at the academy to provide new office space, four new state-of-the-art classrooms, a link building and a brand new infant play area, including a soft play area. We are providing building surveying, project management, quantity surveying and facilities management services on the scheme. Two further appointments have also been made following the successful recent bid to the EFA for ACMF funding.

Today marks the AA Projects annual staff conference which is to be held over two days at Cranage Hall in Cheshire. This provides the chance for all 120 staff from the seven office locations to meet and exchanges ideas. The conference creates the opportunity to reflect on recent success and plan for the year ahead.

£35 Million Funding Available for Academies

The Academies Capital Maintenance Fund has announced that £35 million has been made available for academies that have converted since 2 December 2013 or that have an academy order. AA Projects has successfully secured over £125 million of funding for academies to date and achieved a 70% success rate in 2013. AA Projects will be assisting academies in identifying improvement projects and preparing applications for this funding round.
