Whitworth Art Gallery wins RIBA Awards

The newly renovated Whitworth Art Gallery has received both the coveted Building of the Year Award and the Conservation Award at the RIBA North West awards. The judging panel visited 15 shortlisted buildings before whittling it down to the eight, announced at a ceremony hosted by BBC 5Lives’s OJ Borg at Halle St Peter’s in Manchester. The building, redesigned by MUMA , has emerged from renovation double its former size and cleverly merged with the park. AA Projects acted as Health and Safety Advisor throughout the £15m redevelopment.

Lettings Secured at Refurbished Exchange Quay

With the first of five phases now completed of the £10 million office refurbishment, Hunter Real Estate Investment Managers has secured two lettings totalling more than 11,000 sq ft at the 433,000 sq ft Exchange Quay office development in Salford. The deals to new tenants GlaxoSmithkline and Boxchange follow on from four recent lettings to new occupiers Wurth Electronics and North West Employers, and existing occupiers, international consultancy RPS and marketing agency K2L. AA Projects is project managing the programme of refurbishment.

Kilsyth Community Health Centre Handover

Our Newcastle office this week handed over a £7 million Community Health Centre in Kilsyth, Scotland. This is the first of three health centres being delivered for the Lanarkshire Health Board. AA Projects building surveying team in Newcastle has been appointed to act as an Independent Tester for all three sites across the South West of Glasgow.
