Exciting news for Jodrell Bank in Cheshire as it is announced as one of nine heritage sites to qualify for lottery funding worth £98 million. The Heritage Lottery Fund said it hopes some of the projects will inspire young people to take a greater interest in science and technology and Jodrell Bank, home to the Lovell Telescope, has received one of the biggest awards worth £12.1 million.
Our teams are currently working on two projects at the Observatory. Works are being undertaken to extend and refurbish the Observatory Control Building and a further project is underway on the Lovell Telescope which includes the bowl surface replacement, wheel girder repairs and foundation upgrades. The lottery funding will allow exciting new developments to be undertaken at the Observatory.
AA Projects has previously undertaken a number of projects at Jodrell Bank including the Star Pavilion new build, Lovell Telescope and MKII Telescope annual painting work and an extension to the Café extension.
