Recently, the UK Housing Awards released their shortlists for the 2021 awards ceremony. Our long-term client Clwyd Alyn has been shortlisted for the ‘Climate change projects of the year’ award in relation to their Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd project. Our affordable housing sector specialists provided cost management, employers agent as well as health and safety support throughout the delivery of this innovative development.

Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd has provided the people of Denbighshire with 38 new affordable homes, which are a mixture of two and three bed houses as well as bungalows. This project is at the forefront of innovation for the housing sector.

The development was completed with sustainability being a key driver. Numerous low carbon technologies were used, including communal air source heat pumps which provide tenants with low-cost heating and water. These homes were built using timber frames manufactured off site by William Homes. Some other technologies include the installation of solar PV panels and the use of Diffutherm wood fibre insulation which meant all homes achieved an Energy Performance Certificate A rating.
