The client brief for the project was to improve the appearance of the Duncan Lawton Building and provide a state-of-the-art extension to the Learning Resource base. Other significant factors were improvements to the access in and out of the building and make the spaces fully inclusive.

AA Projects provided a multi-disciplinary professional consultancy service, with responsibility to manage all consultants, such as structural engineer, mechanical engineer design services, specialist lighting design and acoustic consultancy. AA projects also managed the planning application process along with building control services.

The project delivered all of the desired client requirements and also included a further phase to remodel and refurbish the lower ground floor curriculum spaces. Our team worked closely to ensure that all variations were captured within the overall client budget, and delivered without any overspend.

We put in place an access strategy and control measures to enable the works to be undertaken safely whilst the facilities remained in occupation.

We have a long standing relationship with Oldham Sixth Form College and they remain a key client for AAP having managed a considerable amount of refurbishment work across the estate.
