Peter Bennett House - Hillview

Peter Bennett House is the largest of eight office buildings on Lawnswood Business Park, built around 1990, 4 miles north of Leeds city centre.

No significant modernisation works had been undertaken since the previous tenant took occupation in 1993 and the building appearance is now dated. In addition, due to original specific requirements of HMRC’s occupation, the main elevations and fenestration limit the amount of natural daylight and ventilation into the accommodation.

The Drees & Sommer team including Building Surveying design, Project Management, Cost Management and Principal Designer were engaged to initially prepare a feasibility study for the upgrade of the whole property and following the approval of the scope and budget cost of £3m, the appointments continued to design and manage the works through to completion.

The works consisted of the full strip out of the office space to provide high quality upgraded working accommodation and full upgrade of WCs, common areas and reception to the highest standards. The elevations and fenestration were enhanced with a new striking design to improve internal daylight and attract tenants.
