Sovereign House – Hillview

Originally built in 1862 for The Bank of England, Sovereign House is a unique and striking Grade II listed property situated in the heart of the financial district of Leeds. The original features of the building have been embraced and reimagined to create a working environment that meets the needs of modern-day businesses.

The whole project was project managed by Drees & Sommer along with QS cost advice and Health and Safety Principal Designer roles, with a project value of £1.5m.

The refurbishment of the building involved the complete strip out of the second, third and fourth floors and full refurbishment including new M&E services to provide a high-quality workspace. The reception and common areas were also upgraded to the highest standards including new WCs, showers, and cycle storage.

At the same time, the basement, ground and first floor accommodation were fitted out as leisure space by Flight Club and Drees & Sommer acted as Landlord’s representative to oversee the new tenants fit out.

Drees & Sommer also prepared and negotiated a dilapidations claim on behalf of the Landlord in respect of the second and third floor offices.
