Wycombe High School

Wycombe High School appointed Drees & Sommer on a Refurbishment project to alter existing under utilised and outdated spaces to provide a more modern and versatile environment.

The project included:

  • Converting one of the laboratories into a Reception and the Student Support Services office, in conjunction with securing the front entrance to the school with the doors and gates connected to the school’s access control system
  • Providing additional study space for students by opening up 1st floor classrooms and offices in the Miller Building. Removal of the redundant stud walls and installation of glass partitions
  • Converting the Graphics Room into an ICT suite while converting the Food Technology Room into a Graphic Design Room
  • Providing a new Staff room in the Technology Block

Our expert team worked with the client team to ensure that the works were completed during term time with minimal disruption. The project was delivered successfully during the height of the pandemic. We managed and mitigated risk throughout, regularly attending site and heading off risk at the earliest stage.

Since completing the project Drees & Sommer have been appointed to undertake a feasibility study to review the options available to upgrade and refurbish the old reception area, Student Support Services offices and Staff Room and providing more appropriately tailored offices, meeting rooms and staff breakout areas.
